Discover the exciting world of coding and robotics with LEGO® SPIKE Prime! This hands-on workshop is perfect for kids eager to explore STEM in a fun and interactive way! Students will build and program their own TACObot, learn coding with an easy beginner-friendly interface, sole challenges and unleach creativity!

Note:  This class was originally schedule at the Salem Education Center, but was moved to Centralia due to the flood damage at the Salem location.

In this class, kids will create a round door hanger to show off their own style and flair!  They can create a design in a theme of their choosing, whatever they like!  Some embellishments will be provided, but students can bring items to add to their door hanger to give it personality and dimension!

Cosmetology Career Exploration at the Beauty Lab – Kaskaskia College

Step into the world of beauty and creativity with our Cosmetology Career Exploration event, held in the state-of-the-art Beauty Lab at Kaskaskia College! This hands-on experience is perfect for students curious about the fast-paced, ever-evolving cosmetology industry.

Participants will get the chance to practice real cosmetology skills, including nail techniques and hair braiding, guided by experienced professionals and instructors. Along the way, they’ll learn what it takes to succeed in the cosmetology program at Kaskaskia College and what to expect from a career in this dynamic field.

Whether you're passionate about hair, nails, or simply love helping others look and feel their best, this event is a great first step toward discovering if cosmetology is the path for you! Lunch will be provided. 

July means halfway to Christmas! Join us for an afternoon of Christmas crafts and talking about the holiday season!

Students will build LEGO® creations from WeDo® Education, turning them into a robot, programmed to do exactly what they tell it to do. Robotics 101 uses drag and drop iconbased programming and offers an introduction into the fun of building with LEGO® Bricks. Additionally, the students will face the challenge of computer programming some pretty awesome robots that will equip them to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. They will also have fun playing camp style games and a few LEGO® building challenges. Get your student ready for a fun, action-packed week that combines real-life skills with real-kid fun! Each student will also take home a LEGO® mini figure.

Learn how to decorate a cake!  Each student will also pay a $10 fee directly to the instructor for supplies.

Students will choose their own medium (paint, markers, watercolors, colored pencils) to create personal artwork by applying everything they learned from previous classes. They will have free creative control with guidance available from the instructor, if needed.
