STEM Builders Challenge is a half-day, hands-on camp where students work in small teams to build, test, and improve their own structures and creations. Participants will take part in fun building challenges—such as towers and bridges—using everyday materials while learning how designers and engineers think about strength, stability, and teamwork. Along the way, students will practice planning their ideas, working within simple rules and time limits, and improving their designs through testing and teamwork. No prior STEM experience is needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to build!

Create a work of art that is yours to keep while capillary action and chromatography! The next expreiment in this class is a hands-on activity, where we will explore the stages of plant growth. Students will learn about basic plant biology and how growing conditions can impact seedling development. Using these principles, they will create their very own mini greenhouse environments! Enjoy two experiments during this class. In this exciting activity, students will be investigating a simple who-done-it crime! Using learned knowledge about basic plant biotechnology and breeding, as well as protein expression, students will solve the ELISA mystery and catch the culinary culprit! In the next experiment, Here we learn the basic structure of plant cells and DNA helices. Students will be introduced to basic laboratory procedures and will perform a simple DNA extraction from a strawberry. In this class, students will get to experience hands-on activities in the laboratory environment! Space is limited, so register early!
