Through games, music , movement, and hands-on activities, students will learn basic Spanish like greetings, numbers, colors, and simple phrases. The Mental Health Magic program is a one-of-a-kind experience. This specific program is not being presented anywhere else in the country. Professor Longhair, AKA Randy Thompson, B.A., MHP, has been a community mental health counselor for 35 years. He applies his experience and knowledge about mental health topics and blends that with his interest in performing Magical Illusions. In this class, magic tricks will be performed and then the mental health concept behind the illusions will be discussed briefly by Randy. Then, a group discussion will follow. This is a fun, interactive, and professionally guided approach for the discussion of serious mental health issues. The topics include Problem Solving, Communication, Perceptions, Self Esteem, Coping With Bullying, and Grief, Change, and Loss. He has presented this for several years with great success. Now is the perfect time for children and teens to learn and practice ways to feel more comfortable with expressing their thoughts and feelings about the emotions that they experience in a safe and supportive atmosphere with professional guidance.

Think you can’t paint? Think again! This class shows kids how easy and fun painting can be using a guided canvas. With pre-drawn designs and bright acrylic paints, students will create a stunning piece of art they can take home and hang up. Designed for ages 7–12, this class helps improve concentration and fine motor skills while making art approachable and fun.

Students will build LEGO® creations from WeDo® Education, turning them into a robot, programmed to do exactly what they tell it to do. Robotics 101 uses drag and drop icon-based programming and offers an introduction into the fun of building with LEGO® Bricks. Additionally, the students will face the challenge of computer programming some pretty awesome robots that will equip them to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. They will also have fun playing camp style games and a few LEGO® building challenges. Get your student ready for a fun, action-packed week that combines real-life skills with real-kid fun! Each student will also take home a LEGO® mini figure.

Ready on the set! Action! Students learn how to develop a storyboard, then put that to use in designing their movie set using LEGO® bricks to tell their story, complete with music, special effects and all their favorite LEGO® mini- figure characters! In this fun and creative camp, students will plan, script, stage, shoot, and produce their own mini-movie using Stop Motion Animation. Students work in a small production team of 3-4 people, use LEGO® components to build the set and props, then shoot their movie using a web camera. Teams will use movie-making software to add special effects, titles, credits and more. When the movie is complete, students will have a premiere screening party on the last day of camp. Don't let your kid miss their chance to be a movie producer! They will also have fun playing camp style games and a few LEGO building challenges throughout the week. Students will receive a copy of the movies the whole class created as well as a LEGO® mini figure.
